The Department was started during the academic year 1996-1997 with approval from AICTE and affiliation from University of Madras: Later from Anna University. This department has impressive range of laboratories.
The department library has an extensive collection of academic books in the areas of latest technologies. The department has well equipped laboratory facilities in the area of Physics, Chemistry and Communication Skills Laboratory. |

Efficient staff guide students and individual attention is given to students. The department has stable, highly qualified and experienced staff members in the staff student ratio of 1:13.
Students are trained both quantitatively and qualitatively during the lab session that enhance their understanding and helps further to motivate them to taking projects and proves as a helping hand to do their projects efficiently.
Practical awareness is inculcated to the students by arranging Industrial Visits. Guest lecturers and seminars are held to update their knowledge in their respective fields. Personality development programs are conducted to improve student’s soft skills. |

The department of English has evolved a literary Association “OASIS” during the academic year 2007 – 2008 solely to enhance the creative literary sand latest talents in the engineering students. “OASIS” organizes literary competitions for both UG and PG students every year. Guest lectures also find prominent role among the literary activities by inviting language experts from the various top level institutions like IIT, Anna university etc.
