Department of Computer Applications

The Department of Computer Applications was established during the academic year 2008 – 2009 with the main objective of preparing MCA graduates for productive careers in software industry/academia by providing an outstanding environment for learning and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline.

We incorporate creative methods and processes to assure the value of education for all students

engaged in the pursuit of learning and personal development.

We are also conducting “Association Activities” for students to develop their technical, soft skills and aesthetic abilities, so that ideas can be confidently expressed.

As a learner-centered institution, GKM focuses its efforts on the capability of all students to grow academically and personally while achieving success.

Mr. K.Rajaram, M.C.A, M.Phil, Head of Department
K.Rajaram has done graduation in Computer Science, Post Graduation in Computer Applications and M.Phil in Computer Science from University of Madras. Having 8 years of experience in Teaching Learning Process with the interest in areas like Data Structures, DBMS, Data Mining and Software Engineering.

Enable the students to achieve balance in their professional as well as personal life by giving awareness about the world and the human life. OBJECTIVES Providing the best environment and practices to the students to achieve mastery in core areas of the discipline. Enriching the faculty members in achieving excellence in Teaching-Learning process. Providing Industrial exposure to the students by arranging Industrial visits, Special lectures. Encouraging the students to participate in the competitions and group activities. Motivating the students to achieve University ranks. Motivating the students as well as the faculty members to participate in the research activity and promote innovations.
LABORATRY The Fully furnished laboratory with following features to fulfill the needs of the Students. 60 Nodes with latest configuration and 3 Servers [Windows, Oracle, Linux] with Local Area Network. Complete UPS Backup. Skilled assistant to train the Students.
STUDENTS ASSOCIATION The students association named as “ASSOCIATION OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS” is functioning with the objective of “Enriching Yourself”. The following “Special Interest Groups” [SIG] were created to explore the knowledge in the core and emerging areas.
