Objective: The objective of the course is to
impart quality training to the candidates for moulding
him into a classic professional endowed with an innovative,
imaginative approach. The course also enables him to develop
remarkable and amazing clarity and originality in vision
and admirable courage. This also serves as a booster to
his self-confidence and self esteem. Apart from furthering
the aforementioned goals the course also envisages to
establish and implement system standards in training/education
and to follow laudable standards for maintaining the quality
policy and also improving and upgrading the quality system
to the best extent possible. |

This course serves as a gateway to
a highly remunerative job, which provides a golden
opportunity to visit some of the exotic locations
in the world. Thus the career offers a very rare
experience of combining the work culture with a
sense of pleasure and adventurous spirit. The unique
nature of the course curriculam, which includes
practical drills, Fire fighting, boat drills etc
will enhance the practical approach of the candidate.
The course by means of offering state - of the -
art facilities also places the Institute on a par
with the world class training centres thus establishing
conformity to international standards.
Scope: This
course ensures a student for a very bright future
in the Merchant Navy. The Scope of the course is
to mould a proper, efficient and bright Marine Engineer
for the future generation with masterly skills in
advance technology.
After getting the required approval from AICTE,
Anna University and Director General of Shipping
the 4 year B.E. degree course in Marine Engineering
was started in the academic year 2006-07. As per
the requirements the DG Shipping, Mumbai, Approval
was obtained again on 22-08-2007 to admit First
year students and to run second year of the above
course. Approval
No: TR/A/36/2007 dated 22nd August 2007.
Approved Intake capacity is 40 students for every
year. Our INDos
No: is 840 and Course ID is 64.

Prof. K.
Narayanan, B.E. Mechanical from Annamalai
University, MOT First Class (MOTOR) - Joined Shipping
Corporation of India, Mumbai in 1970 as TME (Trainee
Marine Engineer), passed MOT First Class Motor and
became Chief Engineer in 1977, on board the ship.
In 1980, joined Malaysian International Shipping
Corporation, Kualalumpur as Chief Engineer and till
2001 served in various Indian and Foreign flag Vessels.
Last two years in teaching profession in leading
Marine Institutes at Chennai. Joined this College
on 16th June 06 in Marine Department. |

The college is equipped with excellent
lab facilities. As the college is already functioning
with other branches like Mechanical, CSC, ECE, EEE
and Post Graduate course in Information Technology,
we have excellent and experienced faculties. The
college has necessary workshop facilities in the
above disciplines to cater to the marine students
also. The students will be trained by well experienced
faculty members who have vast experience in various
shipping companies. The college is to be equipped
with"Ship-in-Campus" facility soon. The
Marine engineering department will have its own
independent identity inside the campus.
