Department of Electrical & Electronics

	The department was started during the academic year 1997 - 98 with approval from AICTE and affiliation from University of Madras; later from Anna University. This department has impressive range of laboratories. The department library has an extensive collection of academic books in the areas of latest technologies. The department has well equipped laboratory
facilities in the area of thermal, fluid mechanics, dynamics, workshop, cad/cam, strength of materials. Efficient staffs guide students & individual attention is given to students.

The department has stable, highly qualified and experienced staff members in the staff student ratio of 1:13. Students are trained both quantitatively and qualitatively during the lab session that enhance their understanding and helps further to motivate them to taking projects and proves as a helping hand to do their projects efficiently. Practical awareness is inculcated to the students by arranging industrial visits & in-plant training.
Guest lecturers & seminars are held to update their knowledge in electrical and electronics engineering. Personality development programs are conducted to improve student's soft skills. Labs: 1. Power System Simulation Lab M.E Embedded System Technologies The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering began its Postgraduate Program in Embedded Systems in the academic year 2009-2010. Embedded systems will be the pathway for the next generation’s new inventions. It will act as a platform for the budding engineers and graduates to pay more attention over Research and Development. Design engineers of Embedded Systems can optimize it, by reducing the size and cost of the product or by increasing the reliability and performance. This programme covers various areas like hardware software co-design, Microprocessor and Microcontrollers, Digital Electronics, Operating systems etc., for graduates of Computer Science and Engineering, Information technology, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. Inauguration of AEEE The Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for the academic year 2007-2008 was earlier inaugurated on 17th July 2007 at our college premises by Mr.G.Udayasuryan, Director, Banking and Financial Services, Cognizant Technologies. ADROIT' 08 The Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers under the Head Mr.K.Thirupathi, H.O.D/EEE conducted a National Level Technical Symposium "ADROIT'08" on 29th February 2008. The inauguration part of the Symposium was presided by Mr.R.Muralidharan and Mr.Murali from NTPC Chennai and The valedictory function was presided by Mr.N.Arunachalam, Professor Anna University. Totally there where five events in the symposium, they were Doc Fizz (Paper Presentation) Bugz End (Circuit Debugging) Electrithink (Technical Quiz) Wire World (Wiring) Charades (Technical Dumb C) Totally there were 101 participants from different Engineering colleges have participated in the Symposium. Honorable Secretary Mrs. Sujatha Balasubramanian, Director Dr.K.P.Jagannathan and Principal Dr.N.Ramaraj presided the Symposium with their gracious presence.
